Marmaduke
On Friday I saw the movie Marmaduke starring Owen Wilson and George Lopez, and I thought it was a real good movie. The big difference between the movie and the comic strip is in the movie Marmaduke can talk and he's friends with a cat, and in the comic strip he can't talk and there is'nt a cat in it. The movie has great comedy is good for kids makes the perfect family film.

Movie and Play I saw this month
This month I saw Iron Man 2 and I thought it was a really good movie better than the first it introduced two more Marvel comic characters War Machine and The Black Widow, and I can't wait to see next years Marvel movies Thor and Captain America then The Avengers the year after that. The play I saw was at my college it was The Odd Couple (The Female Version). It was the story about Olive and Florence. Olive is a slob and won't stop giving money to her ex husband who has a gambling problem, and Florence is a neat freak and has just left her husband and is suicidal because of it. Olive lets Flo move in with her to help her, but the two wind up driving each other crazy in the end. The play is both fun and hilarious I'd recommend it to any one.

Mother's Day Gift

I gave this picture to my mother as a mother's day gift, and she loved it. I love to give pictures as gifts to people that I love. I've given my sister a picture of a lynx, and a picture of a horse. I've given my nephew pictures of Buzz Lightyear, Spider-man, the black suited Spider-man, Nemo, Donatello from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, a Hot Wheel car, Ben 10, and a cartoon cat, I've given my great grandmother Chip n Dale, Donald Duck, her dog, Chicken Little, a blue jay, swans, her two favorite were of Mickey and Minnie, and when she died we buried those two pictures with her. I've given my grandparents, a bear, a fox, deer, and an eagle.

I came up with the idea for this drawing a few weeks ago when I was at work and I thought of the Christmas special Donner from ABC Family. In the special all of the the reindeer had different personalities based on their names and Blitzen was depicted as a drill sargent because he was the lead reindeer. My version of Blitzen is more like a airplane pilot. I drew the picture in F pencil, and outlined it in 0.6 pen and the facial features in 0.3 pen.

When I was in high school this was one of my favorite projects in art class. We would make a mask and just about everyone made a mask out of cartoon characters with mask the teacher supplied us with, and if we made the mask out of card board we would get extra credit for it. The Spider-Man mask was my first mask I made, the next year I made Kim Possible out of card board, and in my last year I made Gromit. His ears are made out of card board.

Early Character Ideas

A few years ago I bought a book by comic artists called Action Cartooning. From that book I designed some of the characters that you see above. I'm going to use the hero characters you see above, but I'm not going to use the villans because I've come up with a different idea for the heroes, and I'm going to change the raccoon into a dog.
