Christmas Gifts

These are two drawings that I have done to give as presents to my great grandmother and my grandfather this year. The deer is for my grandfather I looked at a picture of a deer from a calender that my grandmother had drew it in HB pencil then shaded in with 2B pencil and the trees were also drawn in 2B pencil. The blue jay is for my grandmother I drew it in HB pencil then colored it in with colored pencil. Happy Holidays

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas to everyone I'm looking foward to the big day, we have our tree up in the living room and I have one up in my room. I have my shopping done for my family, and I look forward to my grandfather's party and to my grandparents staying with us.

Great Movie

I've seen the new Sony Animation movie Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs, and I found the animation in the movie to be fantastic and the 3-D to be great. I can't wait to see this movie again my favorite characters are Flint, Sam, Tim, Steve, Earl, and Cal.

Car Show

These are pictures that I took at a event in our town's park called Art in the Park. The event had art displays and a car show which classic old cars were put on display.

Story I'm working on and stories I have ideas for.

Currenly I'm working on a story for publication called The Animals that Saved Summer Camp. It's about this a group of forest animals a fawn named Joey, a raccoon named Rocky, a squirrel named Louie, a chipmunk named Teddy, and a possum named Peter. These animals are curious about the camp and when they learn that the camp is to be sold it puts the forest in danger of being destroyed so they have the difficult decision of leaving the forest to try and save their home. Another story I have an idea for I want to do as a series is about a boy who moves to a new town and when he goes to school he discovers that everyone at his school and everyone in the town are all monsters. The kids he makes friends with are a werewolf boy, a gill boy, a vampire girl, and a ghost cheerleader. Another story I want to do I got the idea for from a assignment on a online fiction writing class it's about a girl named Shelby who rats out a theif for robbing a conveince store, and then two months later the their escapes and the police fear that he will go afte Shelby so her and her family are placed into the witness protection program and are sent to another state until the theif is caught.

UP

On Monday after I got out of work I went to the movies to see Disney Pixar's UP and it was a great movie it had a good story and it had great characters my favorite was Carl. I saw the 3D version of the movie and the 3D was fantastic. I think 3D works best in a computer animated movie than it does a stop motion movie. I saw Coraline and I think the 3D in that did'nt work very well. I look forward to see Pixar's next two movies coming out Toy Story 3 and Cars 2.

This is a drawing of a bean bag bear that I got for graduation from high school. I did another one of it in pencil but it would'nt show up on my computer.

Castle

This is another one of my drawings. It's one that I did when I was an art student in high school the assignment was to draw a castle in pencil then outline it in pen.

Dad and Dog

These are two drawings that I did two days ago one is my dad sleeping in his chair and the other is my dog sleeping. I drew them both in pencil first and then I outlined them both in ink because I don't draw really dark.

First time with a blog page

Hi, my name is Roderick Sloan and I'm new to the blog page. I joined because I liked looking at the art work of art students, animators, comic artists, and character designers, and now I want to make my own blog to post my own artwork. My interests are drawing, cartooning, writing, and reading. My favorite animation companies, are Disney, Pixar, Bluesky, Dreamworks, and Sony Pictures Animation. Animated movie are my favorite and the current animated movie that I've seen is Monsters Vs Aliens and I loved it I think that it was one of Dreamworks best movies yet. I promised my sister I would take her to see Disney Pixar's Up and I look forward to see that. I hope to make friends with character developer, cartoonists, and animators while a part of this site.
